Our Origins

ShilNepal exists for one reason: to make the origin of our shilajit unmistakably clear. Our resin is sourced from the Himalayan region surrounding Namche Bazaar, a historic mountain village in northeast Nepal widely known as a gateway to Everest. This page explains where our shilajit comes from, who gathers it, and how it moves from the mountains to your tin in Australia.

Where our shilajit comes from

Our shilajit is collected in high mountain terrain in the Nepal Himalayas near Namche Bazaar. This region sits along long-standing alpine travel and trade routes and has been home to mountain communities for generations. The landscape is cold, steep, and seasonal, and access to collection areas is limited.

What shilajit is, in simple terms

Shilajit is a natural resin that forms in mountain rock environments over long periods of time. In warm seasons it can soften and seep from rock fissures, where it is collected as a sticky, tar-like resin. Shilajit is not manufactured. Its quality depends on the integrity of the source environment, careful handling, and responsible preparation.

How it is harvested

Our resin is gathered by local people who know the terrain and seasons. Harvesting is seasonal and small-batch by nature. We do not operate at factory scale and we do not blend our material with powders, fillers, or additives to increase volume.

  • Collection style: Hand-collected in small quantities during suitable seasons
  • Material form: Resin (not powder, not capsules, not a blend)
  • Batch reality: Limited harvests and finite output by nature

From mountain to tin

After collection, the resin is prepared with care and handled as a food-style product, not a commodity. Our focus is to keep provenance and handling clean, consistent, and traceable. Once prepared, it is packed for freshness and shipped for Australian dispatch.

  • Origin: Nepal Himalayan region near Namche Bazaar
  • Packed for customers: Australia (freshly packed and dispatched locally)
  • What we avoid: Unverifiable “mystery origins”, bulk relabeling, filler blends, and powder substitutes

Traceability and transparency

We treat origin as the foundation of trust. Our product is managed in batches so we can keep clear links between the resin we receive, the resin we pack, and the resin you buy. Where testing and documentation are available for a batch, we present it clearly and without exaggeration.

What “authentic” means to us

Authentic is not a marketing word for ShilNepal. It means the resin is genuinely sourced from the Himalayan region we claim, kept in resin form, and handled with respect. No filler. No powder substitution. No artificial strengthening of texture, smell, or appearance.

Why we share this page

Many people in Australia have been burned by fake, diluted, or poorly handled products that use “Himalayan” as a label with no real provenance. This page exists so there is no confusion about our supply story. ShilNepal is built on a simple promise: clear origin, real resin, honest handling.
